Using Alkaline Skin Care to Restore Balance to the Body

Remember back in high school when they briefly taught us about the body's pH?Well today, we're going to discuss why you should care.

A quick refresher!

pH stands for potential Hydrogen and is used to measure the acidity or basicity of a solution. Anything below 7 is considered to be acidic; anything above is alkaline. As our bodies are made up of 70% water, it would only make sense that our largest organ - skin - has a pH.

The outer most layer of our skin technically has a pH of 5.5, however the outermost layer of our skin is already dead.

It's comes as a surprise to many that as we go deeper into the layers of the epidermis, we find the living cells become increasingly basic. Creating an environment that sustains the natural pH of these living cells allows them to thrive.

Now let's go deeper.

Through no fault of our own, we are regularly exposed to toxins, pollutants, and chemicals daily. These harmful materials are found in everything that we consume,  from the food we eat to the air we breathe. We are riddled with illnesses ranging from anxiety to addiction to cancer, and in 2020 stats from the CDC reported that 60% of United States adults live with a chronic disease.

The late Dr Sebi, renowned herbalist and healer, believed that by consuming with intention, one would be able to affect the body's pH, creating an alkaline environment, that is discouraging to disease.

Bearing this in mind, I created Love's Beauty Essentials to be in alignment with an Alkaline lifestyle. Our line is produced using all basic ingredients, creating optimal conditions for the happiest skin!
