Welcome to Love's Beauty Essentials!

Let me start by introducing myself!

My name is LaToya Love Gillyard, and I am the founder and sole crafter of Love's Beauty Essentials.

 

My backstory:

I am a mother of 3, twin girls and a son. I was raised by an incredibly strong single mother, who worked very hard every day to ensure I had more than I even knew I wanted. Like my mother, my children are the reason I work just as hard as she did. My children deserve to want for nothing, and I must be able to help them pursue whatever dreams their creative minds come up with in the future.

I have been a hairstylist for 17 years and an aesthetician for 8.

In 2018 my salon, Love’s Beauty Studio (located in the Allendale Underground) was almost destroyed by catastrophic flooding. While some may have viewed this as soul-crushing, I viewed it as an opportunity to rebuild and rebrand.

Love's Beauty Essentials:

I made some major changes to my lifestyle after losing my grandparent to cancer and finding out I had fibroids, benign tumors that grow in the uterus. I became an alkaline vegan, closely following the teachings of Dr. Sebi, and got to work developing this line -creating products to help manage my own hair loss and extreme pain. I was certain that I didn’t want to be reliant on medications but finding chemical-free products that worked proved to be difficult – so, I made my own.

A little over a year later, and we're a success! The unwavering support and invaluable feedback we've received from customers and clients has provided us with the tools to become better and stronger as a brand. Our 100% alkaline, clean ingredients make for a truly healing experience. I am so grateful and so humbled to be able to create and share these products with all of you.
